Day 4 Glastonbury to Dursley (56 Miles)

Had a great birthday meal in Glastonbury, steak and chips ! Carbs and Protein luvely. Weather warnings in place for Tuesday heavy rain moving in from the west so reckoned we needed a 7.00 am start.

Left in good time and headed to City of Wells for a quick tour of the Cathedral and Bishops Palace complete with Moat. No peskies except for us lol. Lovely city and very little traffic early on which was to soon change as we hit rush hour.

After a hard climb over the Mendip Hills in Somerset, we headed for Radstock and more sharp hill climbs before a very steep descend into the spa town of Bath. After a quick snack of muesli bars outside the Roman Baths the impending poor weather meant we wanted to head off. The climb out of Bath was worse still, a very long steep hill up to the race course the legs were pushing and burning all the way into the Cotswolds.

Heading to Dursley the Rain was now falling heavily so no lunch for us just yet and pressed on trying to make some headway. Steep descent into the village we headed to Sainsburys for a sandwich and met a lovely couple who kindly donated to the fund raising and reminisced about cycling trips.
We've now landed at Jonty and Charlotte's house who have only just finished building their own house so reckon its time for a hot bath and G&T .
